Our actions | Resources and financing

All local civil society organizations constantly face resource and funding challenges. To ensure their survival, growth and implement their various projects, organizations must mobilize diverse and sustainable resources.

Although the possibilities are open to different sources of funding, including: public, private grants, financial partners and self-financing. Despite the diversity of funding sources, civil society organizations can face challenges in mobilizing financial resources. Among these challenges are:

  1. Increased competition for public grants: Civil society organizations often have to compete with other actors for public grants, which can make this source of funding less accessible.

  2. Funding instability: Public grants or private funds may be subject to restrictions or conditions that may limit their duration or renewal. Civil society organizations must therefore seek to diversify their sources of funding to ensure their sustainability.

  3. The complexity of funding application procedures: applications for grants or private funds can be subject to complex and time-consuming procedures, which can discourage some organizations.

  4. Lack of knowledge of sources of funding: some civil society organizations may not have visibility on the various sources of funding available, which may limit their ability to mobilize financial resources.
