Our actions | Gender Equality

More than 26 years have allowed a considerable advance in the organization's community engagement in the fight and advocacy for gender equality. PJD remains committed to the goal of achieving gender equality, advancing women's empowerment, and fully ensuring the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Considering that :

Young women and adolescent girls are seven (07) more exposed to greater vulnerability to HIV and STI infection than men, PJD, in its capacity as Sub-recipient of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS grant, TB and malaria, daily work to ensure the prevention of infectious diseases and to facilitate the management of this vulnerable layer.

Gender-based violence in the form of physical and/or sexual violence by an intimate partner, or sexual violence by a person other than their partner is a global scourge, PJD has conducted several training courses for trainers on SGBV with partners techniques, therefore, among others, Peace Corps in order to effectively sensitize populations on the harmful effects of gender-based violence.

Access to education is a right guaranteed to everyone. PJD, through the program to keep young girls in school, has enabled 1,500 young girls from underprivileged backgrounds to continue their education serenely. by providing them with a service package containing support for their schooling, complete supplies and health kits.
